English also invited to join Microsoft’s Power Business Intelligence Community Council
Minneapolis – August 7, 2014 – Superior Consulting Services (SCS), a technology firm that combines highly experienced IT professionals with Microsoft products and tools to solve business problems, today announced Dan English, SCS Business Intelligence Practice Manager, has been awarded Microsoft SQL Server Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for the fifth consecutive year. English is one of only five SQL Server MVPs in the state of Minnesota, and one of approximately 380 worldwide.
The Microsoft MVP Award is an annual award that recognizes exceptional technology community leaders around the world who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with users and Microsoft. As an SQL Server business intelligence professional, Dan is committed to learning and sharing the latest Microsoft developments, which include technologies such as Microsoft Office, Office 365 and SharePoint.
“Microsoft MVPs represent a highly select group of experts,” said Richard Kaplan, Corporate Vice President, Customer and Partner Advocacy, Microsoft Corporation. “Dan joins an exceptional group of individuals from around the world who have demonstrated a willingness to reach out, share their technical expertise with others and help individuals maximize their use of technology.”
To be considered for the Microsoft MVP Award, nominees are reviewed by a panel of MVP team members and Microsoft product groups, who evaluate each nominee’s technical expertise and voluntary community contributions for the past 12 months. The panel considers the quality, quantity and impact of each nominee’s work before selecting the year’s winners. Nominees from 90 countries around the world compete to win the Microsoft MVP Award.
“The Microsoft MVP Award is a highly selective award,” said Brian Larson, CTO of SCS. “Not only does Dan deliver our clients in Minnesota the most advanced business solutions using Microsoft Products, but he shares a deep commitment to community and a willingness to help others. All of us here at SCS applaud Dan’s industry leadership and this well-deserved recognition.”
In addition to Dan’s recent MVP recognition, he has been asked to join Microsoft’s national Power Business Intelligence (BI) Community Council to help evangelize Power BI to the world and foster more community growth.
