As an account executive, there are plenty of companies where I could find a role that included cold calls, meeting interesting people and providing neat products and services. I choose to do those things with Superior Consulting Services…in this blog, I’ll explain why.
I prepared for my interview with John Miller and like many professionals before an interview; I was a bit nervous and even scared. I had many thoughts associated with the contemplation of changing jobs and all the stress that goes along with it. Will they like me? How will it affect my family? Will I succeed?
The interview
I walked into the tallest building in Burnsville for my interview and stopped in the restroom for a quick self-pep talk (it works!). As I entered, I was greeted by an open elevator door and thought to myself, “Hmm that’s nice, what a welcoming place.” The elevator door is always open and ready. It’s one of the things I enjoy about arriving at work each day.
Through discussions with John, then with Brian Larson, Vice President of Technology and Lisa Schmid, Vice President of Operations, I developed a good understanding of the work environment, how employees are treated and how the company operates. The SCS culture seemed to be a good fit with my own business philosophy. I wanted to join an organization that believes honesty, integrity and a high level of customer service are hallmarks of a successful company. Superior Consulting Services has these values. I believe it is the way that business should be operated.
I can understand why the word Superior was chosen as the descriptor for what type of consulting services SCS provides, it fits very nicely. My experience has proven that SCS hires nice people that integrate well, whatever their role.
The SCS difference (from an account executive perspective)
As an account executive, I don’t necessarily need to know all the technical details of a project or solution because the one thing I’m most certain about is that Team SCS has superior resources. Our consultants use Microsoft technologies to solve business problems. I have witnessed the infrastructure team transform an unreliable, tangled, outdated network into an efficient system that has the foundation to support the needs of today and be able to scale for the needs of tomorrow. The application development team creates custom software easy enough for a 10-year old to navigate, yet providing the information senior executives need to make informed decisions.
SCS’s business intelligence practice leads the Twin Cities and help clients all over the country. They deliver first-class solutions that enable organizations to perform at a higher level by leveraging correct information to do the right things.
Team SCS provides superior solutions and I have the opportunity to provide superior customer service. Being a part of this Team is fun, rewarding and aligns well with my career path.
