Paul Purington

Since 1999, Paul Purington has been a key contributor to the success of Superior Consulting Services’ business intelligence organization. Starting in a consultant role, Paul progressed to Lead Consultant and is now a partner in our business. Paul is responsible for overseeing the design and development of business intelligence solutions for our clients as well as facilitating business intelligence training classes and mentoring application development and business intelligence consultants.

Previously, Paul was a Software Consultant and Team Leader at Shared Resources Management, where he led a team of consultants that designed and developed solutions for clients using Microsoft tools. Before that, Paul spent three years as a Technology Trainer for ExecuTrain, teaching professionals to leverage the power of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project and other leading Microsoft applications. He began his career as a physics, computer programming and mathematics teacher at St. Francis High School in St. Francis, MN.

Paul has been honored with the President’s Club Award at Shared Resources Management, Trainer of the Month Award at ExecuTrain and a Teacher of the Year nomination at St. Francis High School. He is a member of the North Central District Business Intelligence SIG and often speaks on behalf of SCS at user groups and conferences. Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Physical Science Education from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.


What Paul loves about the work he does:

I LOVE fixing things and solving problems. As a consultant, I get to resolve technical issues and challenges every day. As the CEO, I get to work with a great team to break down strategic and tactical issues facing SCS and we make improvements together.


What you might not know about Paul…

I’m a weather nut. When I was 13 years old, I tracked and graphed the high and low temperatures every day for an entire year. Today, I own a weather station and regularly upload data to Weather Underground.
