GIS & Spatial Analytics Services for Business Operations

Some organizations already have GIS software — but it’s underused, limited, or disconnected from other data.

Other organizations know location data matters, but don’t yet have the tools or infrastructure in place to use it effectively.

In both cases, the challenge is the same: How do you turn location-based data into something your team can actually use to make decisions?

At SCS, we help organizations implement, integrate, and scale GIS and spatial analytics as part of a broader data strategy.

When GIS is implemented and integrated correctly, it becomes a core part of your data environment. With the right foundation in place, you can:
  • Introduce location-based insight into your organization
  • Identify patterns that aren’t visible in other tools
  • Understand how performance varies by location
  • Evaluate scenarios and predict outcomes
  • Improve planning and resource allocation
  • Support faster, more confident decisions
  • Detect risks before a costly investment
  • Use predictive analytics and machine learning

What Our Customers Say

Organizations across industries choose SCS because the work translates into measurable improvement.

Thanks to SCS, we have a dynamic data migration tool for our ERP to help us migrate from Oracle to SQL Server. Our data migration challenge is significant with more than 10,000 tables, ~2TB data volumes and data definition changes. The tool SCS developed to automatically create SSIS packages to migrate individual tables and the control program they created to allow us to control the number of parallel executions have both proven to work out great. We are one step closer to a successful ERP upgrade.

- Ken Jensen, VP of IT, Nilfisk-Advance

Having used SCS twice, I continue to be pleased with the people and expertise they bring to the table. They comfortably worked to meet the challenging delivery demands of our BI project, including two-week release cycles. With their no-nonsense sales approach, they successfully match our needs with their skills. Bottom line, SCS has set expectations and is hitting their marks.

-John, IT Director

The resources from Superior Consulting Services were a great addition to the project team. They quickly fit into the team, provided value and were a huge contributor to the success of the projects.

-Director of Business Technology

Superior Consulting Services quickly understood our needs and was extremely attentive and responsive throughout the process. Open communication between our teams led to a successful outcome. The end solution SCS developed works very well and has been very helpful during system upgrades. Benefits include peace of mind and complete cloning of the data environment enabling reporting at all times.

- Project Director, Medical Device Client

Superior Consulting Services has been instrumental in assisting the City of Burnsville with completing database specific projects over the last couple of years. Their value, support, and training have allowed our IT staff to evolve and grow their own SQL skillset. SCS is a trusted technology partner and we'll continue to leverage their expertise when needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is data unification? What is modernization?

Data unification is the process of combining data from multiple systems into a single, consistent, and accessible source.

We use “modernization” as umbrella term to describe any combination of the following:

  • Improving data governance automation (either within existing tools or via an external tool after data is exported)
  • Implementing a new software within your organization to replace a legacy software
  • Keeping existing legacy software, but improving output with modern data tools

We work with your organization to develop the appropriate data unification & modernization strategy.

How is data unification different from data integration?

Data integration connects systems, but data unification ensures the data is consistent, structured, and reliable across those systems. Our data unification & modernization services include both.

Do we need to replace our current systems?

Not necessarily. We work with your existing systems and connects them into a unified data environment without requiring full replacement.

However, in some cases you may discover that an alternative program may be a better option (or perhaps you’ve already purchased a new tool that needs to be integrated into your tech stack). We assist with setting up and integrating new systems, as well.

Will this improve our reporting accuracy?

Yes. By standardizing and centralizing your data, reports become consistent and reliable across teams.

Is this necessary before implementing AI or advanced analytics?

Yes. Clean, unified data is essential for accurate analytics, machine learning, and AI applications.
