April 17, 2018 – SharePoint: Its New Features and Capabilities was presented by Travis Thompson. It gave a good overview and understanding of the new features in SharePoint and SharePoint Online including demonstrations of real-world uses of Microsoft Forms, Office 365 Group Team Sites and more.
February 13, 2018 – Travis Thompson, John Gnazzo, and Brian Larson presented a Lunch and Learn about the “Business Benefits of Cloud Computing and Amazon Web Services”. This L&L included demonstrations of real-world uses of Amazon Web Services to provide fault tolerance and to created custom applications from predefined building blocks.

July 19, 2016 – Efficiently Developing Applications for Multiple Platforms. We work in an environment where our customers and partners look for information using a multitude of devices – desktop and laptop computers, tablets and smartphones. It can be challenging to efficiently develop application for these varying platforms. This session explored application development approaches to allow your organization to deploy one set of code across multiple platforms, improving productivity and reducing development and maintenance costs.
May 3, 2016 – Predictive Analytics and Azure Machine Learning. Predictive Analytics allows us to find patterns and relationships in large volumes of data. Once identified, these patterns and relationships allow us to make better predictions and analysis. We examined Microsoft’s Azure Machine Learning environment and its ability to quickly and easily provide insights derived from predictive analytics. The Azure Machine Learning environment simplifies the analytics process and permits any size organization to harness the power of predictive analytics.

March 29, 2016 – Securing Your Infrastructure and Your Data. With news of high-profile breaches and hacks seeming to come almost weekly, security has never been more of a concern. This session presented techniques your organization can use to protect its electronic information. We looked at information in multiple formats (documents, database records, etc.) and various states (Within the storage systems, in transit within your network, in transit on the Internet, etc.). Tap into the expertise of session leader, Brian Larson, and the SCS Infrastructure team to learn how your organization can secure your infrastructure data.
February 23, 2016 – Building Better Web Applications Using the ASP.NET MVC Architecture was presented at SCS in Burnsville. Browser-based web applications are the focus of most desktop development efforts today. The traditional approach to these applications can be complex –difficult to build and even harder to troubleshoot and maintain. Microsoft’s ASP.NET MVC architecture offers an effective approach to standardizing and simplifying web application development. This session provided a high-level understanding of the ASP.NET MVC architecture and explored the advantages this architecture brings to your organization.

November 17, 2015 – Lunch & Learn – Leveraging Mobile Platforms was presented at SCS. Today, smart phones, tablets, and other similar platforms abound. How can your organization ensure it is well represented in these mobile environments? This session demonstrated multiple approaches to creating a mobile presence. The pros, cons and development costs of each approach were discussed.
