After helping get FIMC back on their feet following the August ransomware attack, we finally got the SharePoint install underway. Although we were hoping to start in September, as a technology consulting company we recognize that sometimes unexpected events occur. Urgent situations need to be handled as such and timelines get pushed back as a result. Fortunately, we made haste and were able to restore lost data and secure FIMC against future cyberattacks.
Previous to the ransomware attack, John and Dustin – recognizing the importance of an accessible and collaborative place to maintain their HR documents and company forms – tried their hand at installing SharePoint but ran into some roadblocks and reached out to SCS for help. The beginning of October, we came in, rolled up our sleeves and got to work. Because Dustin was already looking to upgrade their Microsoft Office Suite to a more recent version of MS Office, we recommended that they start using Office 365 Business Premium. This Office 365 subscription enables them to use SharePoint without the need to install it locally, provides them with MS Office licensing and allows them to migrate their email to Exchange Online at a later date. We helped FIMC purchase their Office 365 Business Premium subscription, configure their Office 365 tenant and helped them set up their SharePoint Online environment.
With SharePoint, John and Dustin are now able to collaborate with their staff on tasks and projects, streamlining their processes, improving communication and increasing their efficiency. SharePoint essentially creates an intranet experience for its users – a huge win for any company seeking more technology connectivity among office users. Truly a gift that keeps on giving!
Speaking of gifts, the holiday season is upon us. In order to spread some holiday cheer, our team at SCS joined forces with FIMC to create our own foam stress ball version of a super hero and we are in the process of delivering “Super Consultant Stanley” to our clients. Hot off the press, FIMC naturally received the very first “Stanley” and we are hearing reports that he is getting into a ton of mischief around the office this December as their “Elf on the Shelf”. So far, Stanley – learning that John takes sugar in his coffee – filled his entire coffee cup to overflowing with sugar (and peppermints for good measure!), unrolled all the toilet paper in both the men’s and women’s bathrooms and created a trapeze course from the office ceiling that he was found dangling from one morning when everyone arrived.
Keep your eyes peeled for Super Consultant Stanley. He just might be paying a visit to YOUR office in the very near future. Please let us know if anything peculiar happens once he arrives!
