SCS Business Intelligence Consultant Dan English clinches 2010 Microsoft® Most Valuable Professional Award
Minneapolis, MN (July 28, 2010) — Superior Consulting Services (SCS), a technology firm that combines highly experienced IT professionals with Microsoft products and tools to solve business problems, is pleased to announce that SCS Business Intelligence Consultant Dan English has been honored with Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award.
“We are pleased to present Dan English with the 2010 Microsoft® MVP Award,” said Toby Richards, General Manager of Community and Online Support at Microsoft. “This award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who actively share their high-quality, real-world expertise with others. We appreciate Dan’s outstanding contributions in SQL Server technical communities during the past year.”
To receive the Microsoft MVP Award, MVP nominees undergo a rigorous review process. A panel that includes members of the MVP team and Microsoft product groups evaluates each nominee’s technical expertise and voluntary community contributions for the past 12 months. The panel considers the quality, quantity, and level of impact of the MVP nominee’s contributions. Active MVPs receive the same level of scrutiny as other new candidates each year.
“I am so thrilled to receive this prestigious award, I could do a flip,” said Dan. “I have long been a fan and advocate of Microsoft technologies — to be recognized for this passion is tremendously rewarding.”
Dan has worked with Microsoft services and products for over 12 years, with more than five years of experience with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. He has been working with SQL Server since version 6.5 and is now working with the 2008 R2 release. Dan is fully certified with MS SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Business Intelligence.
He enjoys keeping in contact with the community at large, responding to forum postings on the Microsoft forums and SQL Server Central areas. Dan has also been the Minnesota SQL Server user group president and chair since 2009. His screencasts of SQL Server 2008 can be seen on YouTube at http://youtube.com/denglishbi and Vimeo at www.vimeo.com/user3952239/videos. Dan is an avid blogger and tweeter.
“We are very proud of Dan,” said SCS Owner John Miller. “This award is a dual testament to Dan’s expertise and SCS’s status as a Microsoft leader. It is with associates like Dan that we are able to provide our clients with the best talent available.”
